Alright fellow Sports Bettors. Last week we went a smooth 4-1 which made everyone who read that post very rich. Last week we took a double digit dog in TCU and turned them into a straight up win. Which we all know means you won more money! That’s sarcasm you nerds. So onto this weekend’s [Insert sponsor’s name here] SweepVegas Week 5 College Football Bets! If you don’t have anywhere to bet, we encourage you to use 5Dimes. They are the best, here is why!
Southern Cal (-4.5) at Washington St
A game with two of the best quarterbacks in the country should bring about a pretty good showdown. USC had a tough game against a tougher than expected Cal team. That followed an exhausting win vs Texas. WSU has not even had an away game yet or any real obstacles to overcome. This is the week where the mental conditioning both programs have created comes into affect. Also, I believe if the schedules were reversed that this spread would be closer to 10 than 4.5. I like the battle tested Trojans in this one.
Iowa at Michigan St U 44
Ball control is the key to this game. Neither one of these Big 10 teams are in the top 100 in Passing yards per game. I’m not a huge stat nerd when it comes to sports betting but I do think these stats will be reflective of the game plans these teams use this weekend. Both of these teams are trying to recover from a damaging loss and I believe they will be more careful than risky. I expect a 20-17 type of score.
Vanderbilt (+9) at Florida
In what world do bookies think Florida can get a two score lead against any team not coached by Butch Jones? Unless Alabama completely broke Vanderbilt last week, and they may have, I don’t see Florida’s offense having the athletes or the coaching to win by 10. Even when Florida was good, Vanderbilt’s Coach Derek (Radio) Mason has put together good game plans for this SEC East matchup. Vanderbilt wasn’t ready for the “Alabama Stage” last week. They’re better than that disgusting loss. Expect this to be the Vandy that beat Kansas St this weekend.
Tennessee vs Georgia Under 47
This game can go two different directions and neither of those include the score going over 47. I’ve watched Butch Jones for 4 years and 4 games and know exactly how he will show up for this game. He’s coaching for his job right now. For many coaches that would mean some sneaky shenanigans. For Butch, that means his butt just puckered even more. The Bulldogs will try to ease Fromm into his first SEC Road start and will have a very direct game plan. Tennessee will play not to make mistakes and try to capitalize on mistakes from Fromm. So we have a game where both teams are just trying to avoid making the first mistake. It’s just a matter of if the Vols slow down the Bulldogs run game and who makes the most mistakes. The Vols could win or cover easily and they could also lose 37-9. It’s just a matter of if they players check out on Butch Jones. Either way, the Under is where the money is.
Memphis (+4.5) at Central Florida
A game between two coaches have been putting their name on Athletic Director’s list of possible Head Coaching replacements. This is a secretly big game that may be flying under the radar. Memphis survived the “Let down game” after beating UCLA. The Golden Knights just held a Maryland team that scored 2000 points vs Texas to only 10, in their own house. I expect a good balance as Memphis is down a few defenders and Central Florida is down their starting running back. Riley Ferguson has a good game and Memphis proves they’re a legitimate top 25 program.
